There is a great free app from Ordnance Survey called OS LOCATE. It works on most smartphones and does not require a phone signal.
It uses the phone’s satnav (GPS) to give you your location in a Grid reference. Ideal to help you find yourself on a map or for telling Mountain Rescue where you are to 6 figures (100m but still pretty useful!).
You obviously have to load it up and install on your phone before you go out but why not it is free! Pass the word around!
(Keep your phone on low power settings and insulated in cold weather in your sack and have a spare charger pack and lead if you can).
You can do your bit to help the MR teams by finding yourself or at least giving them a good fix on you if you need them.
Enjoy the hills!
