  • Understand night navigation techniques

  • Move safely with groups
  • Practice emergency procedures with a group and know what to do in an emergency.

Location

The rolling landscapes of the Tweed Valley are a perfect environment for a Scottish walking experience and your navigation course. For beauty and solitude, nothing beats the  the peaceful Southern Upland Way as it dips in and out of the Tweed Valley.

Famous for its Corbetts, the sheer variety and beauty of the rolling landscape is breathtaking. Experience Broad Law as a first Corbett and go on to walk many more.

Horse and Hound Country Hotel

The Horse and Hound is a traditional inn dating from 1701, situated in Bonchester Bridge, a quiet hamlet 7 miles from the famous knitwear town of Hawick, offering a friendly atmosphere within its lounge and bar. A restaurant is also available serving a variety of fresh, home cooked meals, with a varied wine list to compliment your meal. There are a variety of beer, lager and ciders as well as cask ale,spirits and malt whiskies on offer in the bar and lounge areas. Outside patio areas are sun traps in the summer, with a roaring log fire in the bar for those cooler evenings. Hermitage Castle, Floors Castle, Kelso Abbey, Keilder Forest, mill shops etc are a few of the local attractions in the area.  Free Wi-Fi access is available.
